What started out as a sport my Dad introduced me to as a kid, then a family friend got me into keel boat sailing in my teens has led to an incredible career in professional sailing that has taken me all over the world since 1994. They say it is called work because it is not fun, but I consider myself very fortunate to be able to do what I love for my career.
Over the past 24 years I have been sailing on all kinds of race boats ranging from 20’ to 143’ in both inshore and off shore races in just about every corner of the world.
Some of the highlights include winning the 2007 Melges 24 World Championships, overall wins in some of the great ocean races such as the Pineapple Cup and Newport to Bermuda Race as well as class wins in the Tranpac and several Mexico races.
Being involved in a sport where you can’t have anything with you unless it is absolutely needed and if it is there it has to work has really influenced my take on building out vans, I like to build them simple light and efficient. Everything you need and nothing you don’t!
Have a look at my sailing CV from over the years and also some of the recent Racing I have been doing. Enjoy!
