My name is Brent Ruhne and I have been racing sailboats professionally since 1994. What started as a passion that was introduced to me by my Dad when I was a little kid, became my trade and I consider myself very lucky to be able to do for a living what I love to do. Over this time, other than racing I have worked in many different areas of the sailboat racing world, from project management, team creation, boat captain, boat builder, rigger and coach. This experience has given me a look at how to make something that is very complex very simple. In a race boat you need all of the tools to help you win, and nothing else, many things need to have more than one use, and it all needs to be reliable, sound, light, strong and efficient.
8 years ago I was asked to modify the original Santa Cruz Bicycles Demo van. This led to building a second, and a third and well… Ruhne Racing Van Solutions is the result. I have taken what I have learned and know from the race boat world to build high performance, efficient, simple and strong vans for both the discerning professional and the adventurer alike. We are now able to build out your van or trailer to suit your needs while you are out on the road no matter what your calling may be!
It is kind of ironic, but when I was born, my Dad owned the Road Runner Camper Company, building campers and building ‘van conversions’. I guess the apple didn’t fall far from the tree!
