What we did:
This was another build that came in phases. We started with the basics, a Maxxair fan, Thinsulate insulation and a Highlander Bed, then as Garrett and family used the van and decided what they needed we completed the build, expanding the original Ruhne Racing 105AH house battery system to a 210AH of storage that is kept topped up by a 300W solar panel flush mounted on the Aluminess roof rack that has flood lights to light up the camp spot at night, LED interior lights including under bed lighting, outlets for charging phones and the ARB fridge which is mounted on top of the battery box and doubles as a counter as well as a small bedside table/counter with storage under.
We also came up with a cool little ‘step light’ to light up the side step when loading the kiddos into their car seats at night. A Van Compass 2” lift, off road tires and black wheels complete the van build. As with all Highlander Beds, it is easily removed with 4 bolts to either put more seats in, or load the van with motos for the weekend.
