What we did:
Ashley and Eric came to us with the desire to build a van for their young family of 4 to live in and explore the country while both working remotely and home schooling their 5 year old son and young daughter. This required some original thinking to fit DOT seating for 4, beds for 4, full galley tables to teach and work, plus storage for everything required for a family of 4!
We arrived on our new concept of ‘Airline Seating’ for the back seats to keep the van from being blocked off with a bench seat. Some of the features of the van include front seat swivels and flip up tables for eating and working, a ‘Hideaway’ bed (Queen size) that lifts up to the ceiling so the (California King) lower bed is available during the day for napping, lounging, etc.
The galley is equipped with an induction top cooker, 95L fridge/ freezer, drawers and upper cabinet storage. On top of 44G of fresh water with on demand hot water, the van has 400AH of LiPo batteries, a 3000W inverter, 1000W of solar that is walkable, a carbon fiber roof storage box, a radiant-heat floor, plenty of storage in upper cabinets, a full height closet, and drawers under the bed plus a large garage accessed from the back doors.
Have a look at the gallery, we are super stoked how it came out, and Ashley & Eric are super stoked with the finish of the van as well as how spacious it feels!
